Number 1 on our list of the best gluten free bread makers is this one from Panasonic. The design is nice and modern and one of the things that really surprised us is how light it is. We expected it to be a lot heavier. First of all, we took a good look through the manual. We were really pleased by how easy it was to understand and there were some great recipes in there.
First of all we tried out the gluten free setting. We were very impressed by the even bake on our loaf. It looked and tasted great; the crust was a lovely even colour and the bread was soft and fluffy inside; just what you want from a homemade loaf. We tested out some of the other settings and did find that some of them were inconsistent with bakes, but this may have been the recipes that we used.
Cleaning the pan on this bread maker was incredibly easy. We were very surprised with how little mess there was left over. After reading through the manual again we learned that this is because the pan has a diamond-fluro coating which makes it non-stick and scratch proof. One of the things that we really liked about this Panasonic bread maker is how easy it is to use.
If you are new to bread making, you have a gluten intolerance and you want to get into making your own baked goods at home then this is the perfect bread maker. As an added bonus it has a jam and compote setting to take advantage of. All of this is what made us want to make this bread maker our top choice today.

2. Panasonic SD-2500 Automatic Bread Maker

- It has a rapid program which bakes in under an hour.
- The gluten free setting is very easy to use.
- It produces nice even bakes consistently.
- The delay timer is great for overnight baking.
- The bread maker is a little on the big side so storage is tricky in smaller kitchens.
- The alert to say that the bread is ready is very quiet.
The first thing that we noticed about this Panasonic bread maker is that it is a little on the large side. This isn’t a problem if you have a fair amount of space in your kitchen, but if you have a small kitchen then storage might be an issue. However, there are a lot of positives that this bread maker has to offer. The first program that we tried was of course the gluten free mode.
We were very impressed by how easy it was to use. There was nothing that we found confusing in the manual and we were very impressed with the quality of loaf that was produced. We went on to try the rapid loaf setting which bakes your bread in under an hour and we were just as impressed with the consistently good results.
One thing that is worth noting is that you really need to make sure that you remove the bread from the pan as soon as possible once baking is complete. We found that if it was left in the bread maker for too long then the steam would spoil the crust. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that the alert that goes off to tell you that your bread is ready is very quiet indeed so it is worth using an external timer.
Overall, we were really impressed with this one, despite the couple of issues that we had. We would definitely recommend it for its ease of use.

3. Morphy Richards Fastbake Bread Maker

- 50 minute fastbake program produces surprisingly impressive loaves.
- The machine is very quiet, even in the kneading stage.
- The gluten free setting does produce a very nice loaf.
- The stirring paddle needs to be removed before baking otherwise you get a hole in the bottom of the loaf; this isn’t stated in the manual.
- There could be more bake settings to choose from.
Number three on our list of the best gluten free bread makers is this one from Morphy Richards who have a fantastic reputation when it comes to cooking appliances. When we first saw it we weren’t sure whether it would be very impressive because it only has 12 different bake settings to choose from. However, we weren’t disappointed with this one at all.
Upon testing out the gluten free setting, the first thing that we were really impressed by is how quiet the machine is, even in the kneading stage. After completing the baking process, we were incredibly impressed with the gluten free loaf that it produced. It was baked evenly and tasted fantastic.
We also tried out the fastbake setting which produces a loaf within 50 minutes and we were equally as impressed with this one. The loaf tasted and looked great. There was one issue that we had that is definitely worth mentioning. Before you start the baking process, you need to make sure that you remove the stirring paddle. If you don’t then you get a hole in the bottom of your loaf. This isn’t noted in the manual.
Although this machine is a little more basic than some of the others, we were still really impressed with the results that we got, even from the rapid bake program. We would definitely recommend this gluten free bread maker to anyone who doesn’t have much time to spare to dedicate to baking.
4. Tower T11 Digital Bread Maker
Features: 13 Bake and Dough Modes – Delay Timer – 4.62kg
- The design is stylish and modern.
- There is a viewing mode which allows you to track the progress of your bread.
- 13 hour delay timer is perfect for baking overnight.
- The kneading blade is quite loud.
- It is not a very advanced machine.
Most of the gluten free bread makers that we have tested have been quite advanced in terms of the different settings that they have to offer, so we wanted to try something a little more basic and decided that this one from Tower was the best to add to our list. The main thing that impressed us with this one is the stylish modern design. Finished in brushed stainless steel, it looks fantastic.
There are 13 different bake and dough modes including a gluten free one. We tested them all and were really happy with the results; we got consistently good loaves from each one. The only thing that is worth noting is that the kneading blade is quite loud which may be a problem for some people.
Something that we really liked about this bread maker is that it has a viewing window on the lid. This is great for keeping an eye on your bread whilst it is baking. We also really liked the 13 hour delay timer which is ideal for overnight baking. Although this is a very basic model we would definitely recommend it to beginners.
5. Andrew James Bread Maker

- This bread maker is high quality but it does take some getting used to.
Last on our list of the best gluten free bread makers is this one from Andrew James. The Andrew James range are consistently high quality, so we were happy to add this to our list after we had tested it out. There were a number of things that we really liked about this model. First of all, it has a really nice stylish design that looks fantastic.
Secondly, we liked the fact that this bread maker was big enough to cater for family baking. There are a large number of baking programs to choose from, all of which produced really good quality loaves. We weren’t disappointed with any of the recipes that we tried. There were, of course, a couple of drawbacks.
The main issue that we had is that the machine does take some getting used to. It is quite complicated in comparison to some of the others that we have reviewed on our list. However, if you are looking for something a little more advanced and you value style then this is the machine for you.
