Home fitness has become hugely popular in recent years. When you consider the cost of a monthly gym membership, this is no surprise. Many people really want to get into fitness at home during their free time, but the problem is that they are lacking space. However, there is a solution that you can look into and that is foldable exercise machines. Foldable exercise bikes in particular have a lot of benefits.
Not only are you able to easily store them when they are not in use, but you are also able to benefit from their built in programs, adjustable resistance and incline and a whole host of other features. If you are looking to boost your fitness at home, then a foldable exercise bike is a brilliant investment.
In order to get the best foldable exercise bike for you personally, it is important that you take the time to research your options. In order to save you some time, we have decided to test and review our top 5 models so that you can get a better idea of the models on the market at the moment and what they can offer you. Please read on below for more information.
Features: LCD Display – 5 Monitoring Functions – 8 Resistance Levels – 100kg Maximum User Weight – Hand Pulse Sensors – 18kg
Number 1 on our list today goes to this model from Ultrasport. Known for their high quality exercise equipment, we knew that we were going to be impressed with. To start with, the assembly process was very easy indeed. The instruction manual was very easy to follow and we had no trouble setting it all up within an hour.
The first thing that we noticed was how comfortable both the seat and the handlebars are on this exercise bike. Even after a thorough workout we didn’t notice any discomfort at all. Folding and unfolding the bike is no problem at all, it is just a matter of inserting and removing a pin.
The bike might be a little heavy for some people to carry, but it is one of the lighter frames on the market at the moment. The monitoring functions are very easy to switch between with the click of a button and the LCD screen is surprisingly bright.
One thing that we were surprised by with this one is how quiet it is. We didn’t experience any noise when we were using it. When it comes to resistance levels; they aren’t quite gym standard, but they are very close indeed. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with this one.
Features: LCD Display – 6 Monitoring Functions – 8 Levels of Resistance – 100kg Maximum User Weight – Hand Pulse Sensors – 14kg
Starting off, the assembly process was surprisingly easy. It only took us around an hour to get the bike set up, but we would definitely recommend that you have two people assembling it to speed up the process. One of the things that we really liked about this one is how compact it is when it is folded. It can be easily stored in a small space.
Upon testing out the bike, we were happy to notice how sturdy the frame feels. There is no wobbling at all and it feels really well built. We were also really surprised by how quiet this bike is, we were able to complete an intense workout without worrying about disturbing anybody with the noise.
The resistance levels aren’t close to gym standard but they’re perfectly acceptable for a home workout machine. The seat on the bike isn’t as comfortable as we would have liked, so it is definitely worth investing in a padded seat cover if you intend to use the bike on a daily basis.
One thing that we did notice is that the hand pulse sensors are a little temperamental. They seem to be affected by sweat which is a little frustrating, so if you want to monitor your pulse then it would be worth using a FitBit or something similar. Overall though, we liked this exercise bike a lot.
Features: LCD Display – 6 Monitoring Functions – 8 Levels of Resistance – 100kg Maximum User Weight – Hand Pulse Sensors – 15.9kg
Number 3 on our list of the best foldable exercise bikes goes to the Onxy by Viavito. We have tried out Viavito machines before and always been pleased so we weren’t surprised that we liked this model. Assembling the bike was incredibly easy; we had it all set up and ready to go within an hour. The first thing that we noticed is that the seat is incredibly comfortable.
The handlebars of the bike have a nice padded foam grip which feels really nice to use. Switching between the different monitoring functions is very easy, it is just a matter of clicking a button and the LCD screen is very bright and clear.
The hand pulse sensors are fairly accurate but they can be a little on the temperamental side. However, this seems to be a common thing with home exercise bikes in general. The one thing that we were a little disappointed with was the levels of resistance. Although there are 8 levels, it is only the highest three levels that actually feel like they are giving you a workout.
However, if you are relatively unfit and you want to get started on your journey to a healthier lifestyle then this is one of the best basic foldable exercise bikes that you can buy.

Our recommended alternative is The JLL IC200 PRO!
Features: LCD Display – 5 Monitoring Functions – Adjustable Levels of Resistance – 100kg Maximum User Weight – Hand Pulse Sensors
The next on our list is this bike from UK Fitness. We chose this one because we wanted to add a foldable spin bike to our list for something a little different. Although this is a very basic model, it is ideal for the beginner who wants something affordable and easy to store that will allow them to ease themselves into the world of fitness.
The adjustable levels of resistance are great. We were able to really vary the intensity of our workouts. One thing that did surprise is how sturdy the frame feels. We expected it to feel a little flimsy for something in this price range but it really doesn’t.
Of course, there are some drawbacks that are worth noting. First of all, the seat on this exercise bike is quite uncomfortable. We would definitely recommend buying a seat cover if you intend to use the bike on a regular basis. Another thing that we didn’t like is the bracket that holds the LCD screen. We found that it didn’t hold it well and it didn’t feel secure which was a little inconvenient.
Lastly, we didn’t feel that this bike would be suitable for taller people. If you are over 6 foot then it would be wise to look into other options because taller people will find it uncomfortable to use. However, for something basic that does the job, this is a great option.

Last on our list is this folding magnetic exercise bike from XS Sports. They are known for their affordable exercise equipment and we have tested their workout machines before so we wanted to see what this one had to offer. Although it is very basic, we felt that it was a great option for those who want something simple and affordable.
To start off with, we were really pleased by how easy to follow the instruction manual is, both in terms of the initial assembly and using the bike itself. We did find that like the previous model, this one is probably not suited to taller people.
The one issue that we did have is that the monitoring functions don’t seem to be very accurate, although this may have been a one off issue. It is very small when it is folded, so if you are looking for a bike that is compact, easy to use and affordable then this is the one for you.
As you can see, there are some great options in every price range. Hopefully you are able to use our reviews to decide on the best foldable exercise bike for your home.
